Climax-Scotts PEObesity and low test scores are on the raise all over the United States, Michigan is near the top on the list. Studies have shown that healthy students are better learners. Here at Climax-Scotts Community Schools we challenge our students with quality Physical Education. Over the years scientists around the world have shown a correlation between high standardized test scores and physical fitness scores. There is not a single study to shows reducing PE and increasing “classroom” time raises test scores. Physical Education is a necessity for our youth and it is my goal to provide the highest quality physical education possible to all of our students here at CS. Here is a quick time-lapse video of some of our students in PE (grades 3-5th). Our day consists of a dynamic warm up, a lesson focused on maximizing active student learning time, and a cool down. By being active our students maximize their brain function and prepare themselves to be better learners when returning to their classroom setting.
