If you are working on the fundraiser part keep up the good work! Anyone that is not working on fundraising you are welcome to turn in permission slips and $10.00 to cover your students skating at anytime. Once it is turned in I can check them off and they are ready to skate.
Remember if you need assistance in paying for your student(s) please contact Mr. Frisbie directly so that I can help establish funding for those students. Thank you everyone for all that you do to support our Climax-Scotts Physical Education Program. Your support allows us to do these fun activities and to give our students a dynamic educational experience.

Roller Skating Unit during physical education class April 9th to May 4th Roller Skating Unit Every student is expected to take part in the roller skating unit here at Climax-Scotts Elementary School. All students in grades K-5th during physical education learn skills and techniques on how to SAFELY roller skate. This will be our 3rd year incorporating this into our Physical Education Curriculum. Students are taught necessary skills to properly fall down, how to safely stand up on skates, several ways to appropriately stop, start, and move on skates. The lessons are all taught by the Physical Education Teacher Mr. Frisbie. Skating takes place on site in the elementary gymnasium during student’s normal P.E. class periods. Students are skating for the entire month in school while learning a great physical activity. Cost for skating: The roller skating unit does have a $10.00 per student cost. The cost covers the equipment to be delivered to the school, student’s use of the equipment, liability insurance, the unit plans, and equipment pickup. What if i can’t afford to pay If you are unable to afford the $10.00 per student please contact Mr. Frisbie asap. We have never had a student not skate due to funding. Every student will have the opportunity to skate and arrangements will be made if you are concerned with being able to pay for your student(s). I ask that if money is tight you send in what you are able to afford and I will figure out how to make up the difference. If you are in this position please contact me by email: [email protected] so I am able to work with you. Fundraising Overview helping to fund the Roller Skating program. The fundraising program is set up in levels and is very similar to how it was ran last year. There are different prize incentives for a given dollar amount raised. All the funding raised goes to help pay for the roller skating unit and any additional money raised goes directly into the physical education program. In addition to paying for the roller skating unit funding allows us to purchase and update any equipment that will better educate our students in the future. Fundraiser runs from March 1st to March 29th 2018. More details attached. Send all money in an enclosed envelope with students name on it. The first week of roller skating is learning about the equipment, how to find your correct skate, how to properly put on all the equipment, how to safely stand up on the skates and stay standing safely, how to properly fall in a safe way, and safe ways to stop and start on skates. |
