Welcome to Mr. Frisbie's Physical Education Page
About MeSince 2013 I have had the opportunity to teach Physical Education at Climax-Scotts Community Schools. It is my passion to teach our youngest learners; elementary students are at a critical stage in their development. It has also been fun to couch the older students at the Junior High and High School Levels. In my first two years I was an assistant coach for JV and Varsity Football. I was also the Co-Head Coach of both the JH and Varsity Track Teams. I have a passion for both teaching and coaching and it has been an honor to be a Climax-Scotts Panther!
While here at C-S I have been able to build a structured and organized physical education program. I strive to create a safe, yet fun, learning environment. My daily lessons balance learning objectives with energetic games and activities to ensure student growth. The foundation of my program is standard based and structured around best practices that are developmentally appropriate. This allows each student to have the opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential. With the use of technology I track growth, differentiate lessons, and make appropriate modifications to provide necessary accommodations for students to reach their goals. For the past three years I partnered with a company to bring a roller skating unit to the district of Climax-Scotts Community Schools. For a month I turn the gymnasium into a roller rink and explicitly teach K-5 students to skate using the gradual release of responsibility concept. With an extensive plan, and the support of our community, all two hundred plus students have able to skate each year, many of them for their first time ever. Throughout my teaching career the relationships built are the most rewarding. I strongly believe that positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members are essential in becoming an outstanding educator. Being an effective problem solver and a collaborative educator. Before becoming a Panther I was a Redskin, a Saint, and a Laker. I grew up as a Redskin in the town of Belding, MI where I graduated in 2006. I was a student athlete in high school playing football, weightlifting, and running track. Football was always my favorite sport growing up and as I became older I fell in love with Track and Field. When I graduated Belding High School I became an Aquinas College Saint. While I attended Aquinas College I continued to be a student athlete. I ran sprints at AQ for two years and was on a National Qualifying 4 x 100 meter relay team. After 2 years at Aquinas I decided to transfer to Grand Valley State University and became a Laker to pursue my teaching degree. I graduated from Grand Valley State with my Bachelors of Science Degree in Education, with a major in Physical Education and minor in Health. Throughout my life I have always been very physically active and played both organized and unorganized sports on a regular basis. Being active has always been a passion on mine. I am a health and fitness enthusiast, and enjoy just about every form of physical activity. I plan to share, inspire, and foster passion for lifelong physical activity through the students I teach. |
